Course Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. A basic understanding of electricity and high voltage equipment is beneficial, but not essential.

Anyone attending training should also have a good level of both spoken and written English.

Course Description

This training course is made for those who need to enter high voltage substations or switchrooms, but will not be involved in interacting with high voltage equipment.

Tasks you may be performing could include reading electrical meters, general cleaning and tidying, non-electrical maintenance work, painting or other tasks assosciated with substations and switchrooms.

During the course, you’ll learn to understand the dangers and risks associated with high voltage equipment as well as the safety requirements placed upon you when working in a substation and switchroom.

The course focuses on electrical hazards, different types of high voltage equipment and all relevant precautions you should take to both protect yourself and others.
